Artist statement I always think about and strive to express "beauty". To that end, I feel that Japanese painting is a very good method. I always try to pursue the beauty of nature, and among them, the lotus flower, which is a blessing of nature, can be said to be the origin of my work. I aimed to make this lotus flower coexist with many flowers such as cherry blossoms that I encountered in Japan on the same screen. ステートメント 私はいつも「美しさ」を表現することについて考え、 努力している。そのためには、日本画が非常に良い方法だと感じ ている。私は、目に見るものを実際に見える以上に描くことを目 指すが、目で見たものをそのまま平面に写し取ることを望んでは いない。そのために私は常に自然の美しさを追求することを心掛 け、その中でも特に自然の恵みである蓮の花が私の作品の原点と 言える存在となっている。この蓮の花を中心に日本で出会った桜 など多くの花と同一画面に共存させることを目指した。作品全体 のスペースを花に恵まれた環境として表現することに、またそこ から漂ってくる良い匂いを鑑賞者が感じられるような作品に仕上 げることを目指している。鑑賞者が作品の中の散らない花を見て、 それらを心で感じることができるように、またありのままの様子 を表現し提示するようにも努力した。 --
